The Lumpkin County Band of Gold is a School and Community organization located in the beautiful town of Dahlonega, GA. The BoG prides itself upon its service to both Lumpkin County High School and the Dahlonega community through its free concerts and engaging performances, parades, and other service related activities.

LCMS Band Director
Mr. Jacob Wood is a proud graduate of Lumpkin County High School and currently serves as the Band Director at LCMS and Assistant Director at LCHS. He formerly served these same roles at Stephens County Schools and additionally as Music Teacher at the 5th Grade Academy. Prior, Mr. Wood graduated from Valdosta State University with his Master's in Music Performance and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. He also holds a Bachelor's in Music Education from Young Harris College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and served as Honor Band Coordinator and Band Librarian.
In addition to his teaching career, Mr. Wood serves as a trumpet player in several community ensembles including Toccoa Jazz, and Tri-State Community Band. Mr. Wood previously held seats with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and Albany (GA) Symphony. He is a past winner of the Georgia Music Teachers Association Solo Competition - Upper College Division and semi-finalist of the National Trumpet Competition - Ensemble Division.
