The Lumpkin County Band of Gold is a School and Community organization located in the beautiful town of Dahlonega, GA. The BoG prides itself upon its service to both Lumpkin County High School and the Dahlonega community through its free concerts and engaging performances, parades, and other service related activities.

LCHS Director of Bands
Mr. Cory Jackson is currently the Director of Bands at Lumpkin County High School. Mr. Jackson is a Dahlonega native and has been educated by some of the best in the country. He attended both Lumpkin County Middle School and Lumpkin County High School under the direction of Andrew Harwood. During high school, he performed in the Young Harris Honor Band, University of Georgia JanFest Honor Band, District 9 Honor Band, and Georgia All-State Band. After graduating high school, he attended the University of North Georgia, in Dahlonega. While at UNG, Mr. Jackson completed a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education, Magna Cum Laude.

LCMS Band Director
Jacob Wood is the Director of Bands at Lumpkin County Middle School and Assistant Director at Lumpkin County High School. He was named the 2028 LCMS Teacher of the Year and is committed to building a student-centered program focused on growth, consistency, and meaningful musical experiences for all students.
A proud graduate of Lumpkin County High School, Mr. Wood is entering his fifth year in education and fourth year at LCMS. He holds a Master of Music in Performance from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from Young Harris College, graduating Summa Cum Laude from both institutions.
He remains active as a trumpet performer in community ensembles and enjoys time with his wife, Lindsay, and serving in his local church and youth ministry.
Color Guard Instructor
Mrs. Theresa Roy lives in Dahlonega with her husband and three sons. She graduated from Lumpkin County High School and continued her education at the University of North Georgia (formerly North Georgia College and State University) obtaining both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Health and Physical Education. To further her education, she completed an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University. Currently, Mrs. Roy teaches eighth grade ELA/Special Education; in addition, she coaches Color Guard at LCHS. She loves her students and looks forward to helping them learn and grow.
